The following is from Deana K. on the trip that she took with a group to San Luis at the beginning of January.
We had such a great week in San Luis! We got alot of work done and we got to do ministry every day. Groups went to shut ins, did street ministry, went to the blind center and our whole group went to the garbage dump. Total count is that we were able to provide about 100 bagged lunches at the park downtown and garbage dump. We also served about 50 bowls of homemade chicken noodle soup at the park with many coming up for seconds! Some of our group provided testimonies and our church's modern worship director led a small group in singing at church and at the blind center. What a great group of people in how they blessed so many and spread the love of Jesus! What a fantastic week! We ended the week with a bon fire with hot dog roast at Oasis! We had alot of good food and even smores! It was such a special time with the boys and staff! Many tears were shed when we left! We really looking forward to returning in the future!
It's difficult to quantify the blessings received from serving others, but they are undeniable. We're thankful that Deana and her group were blessed on this trip, and pray that the same will be true for everyone who serves the people of San Luis in 2016. What a great way to start the year!
It's hard to believe that the new church building is just about complete. At the beginning of fall, it was just a shell, but has now been transformed into a beautiful facility that Caring Hearts will be able to use to better serve the community. And to top things off, the church has already started meeting there to worship!
We continue to feel blessed through all of the work done by mission teams and the church members, and we praise God for this great opportunity he has placed before us to minister to even more people in San Luis.
