Ines underwent surgery two weeks ago and a number of tumors were removed from her uterus. A further check showed the cancer had not spread to any other organs. Praise the Lord! She is now up and about and back to work and will go in for a check in the middle of May to see if the cancer continues in the uterus requiring a histerectomy. Please continue to pray that God does a complete miracle in her life.
This past Sunday´s service in the Caring Hearts Church was a blessing, with a full house, baby dedication and souls won for Jesus. Here are some pictures:
One of our goals in the church is to establish full time ministry. We have taken steps in that direction thanks to the hard work of Jose Luis and Alejandra Felix, who have established office hours and regular visiting times. The people in our church are making stronger commitments to the Lord and are showing hunger and thirst for the Word of God. Many are being activated in service. God is moving in and through the Caring Hearts Church! Praise the Lord! Here are some pictures:
The boys of Oasis are learning a new trade while at the same time improving their own living conditions. Thanks to the local Votech school lending them an industrial sewing machine, they are now learning how to upholster chairs. They are using this knowledge to repair the chairs of Oasis, and later the church as well. Here are some pictures.
The brand new color guard of the Caring Hearts Elementary School participated in Mexican Flag Day Celebrations. They marched 9 blocks to the Benito Juarez Park where they observed a ceremony presided over by the mayor and members of the local army base. They joined with over 20 other schools in this exciting event. Thanks to our Principal Eliazar, Assistant Principal Samuel and PE Teacher Raul for the work put in to prepare the girls, and also thanks to Juana and Dulce for their help with the uniforms. Here are some pictures and a video.
Today in the Caring Hearts Church we will be presenting before the Lord the newest member of Caring Hearts, Jordan Emmanuel Rivera Alvarado. He was born on Valentines day and came in at a whopping 10 pounds 13 Ounces and 20 1/2". Mother and son are doing well, in what was a miracle pregnancy and birth. Paola was told a pregnancy would be risky after her illness, but God is faithful and we now have a new boy at the home. Please be praying for them.
While shopping for the color guard uniforms, the Bethel girls ran into a friendly policeman who told them things about his uniform, equipment and job. Ever curious Magali and Casandra peppered him with questions, and almost got arrested Ha Ha. It was all in good fun and a learning experience for the girls. Here are some pictures.
Monday February 24 is Flag Day in Mexico, and for the first time Caring Hearts School will participate with their own color guard. Juana has been working with the girls to prepare for the big day. She took them downtown for their shoes, and they have been helping get their uniforms together. Here are some pictures.
Sarai was having a problem with her 3rd and 4th graders. They were having a bad attitude. They did not want to study, they did not see any use in it. What was she to do? It occurred to her to show them what life may be like if they did not do well in school or decided not to study. With Mama Bertha's approval, she took them to the garbage dump to meet the garbage pickers. They took out sandwiches and gospel tracts. They interviewed a number of the "Pepenadores" and found out that most of them did not know how to read or write, they had dropped out of school, and this was the only way they knew how to make a living. The plan worked. Immediately the next day the children's attitudes changed and they started to make an effort to improve themselves. Praise the Lord! Here are some pictures.
Please pray for Ines as she was diagnosed with cancer. She had an operation last week to get sample for a biopsy, and there were so many tumors in her uterus that they decided to take them all out. She is now in bed for two weeks, and for those of you who know her, you know that will be difficult as she is very active. Please pray for a complete healing and help during this time that she is not working. Her sister is helping with the shut ins while Ines is resting.
