The young men of Oasis are working on a set of shelves for our middle school. Thanks to the Vandergrift First UMC church for the generous donation that is helping with the materials.
Here are some pictures from one of our 5 Cell Groups that are run by leaders from the Caring Hearts Church. It is the desire of the leadership that the community is reached through these smaller groups so that people can receive the Word in a relaxed, informal atmosphere, and feel comfortable asking questions. Our hope is that the family of God will grow in their relationships with one another and Jesus.
We celebrated Mexico's Children's Day in Caring Hearts Church doing a special "By the Kids, For the Kids"service. It was standing room only as the children led the service, play and sang the praise and worship, and Kendi preached. We also had games and some hot dogs and candy for them. The youth group helped out as ushers. Thanks to Juana, Angelica and Sarai for organizing everything.
Members of the San Luis Blind Center hosted a talent show for the blind, with folks participating from other nearby towns. It was a very windy day, but that did not discourage them from showing off the gifts God has given them. Here are some pictures.
I have asked God several times on this trip to hold my heart. It has been an amazing experience. Radically life changing. Things in life are just things. It is the love of God that stands through everything we face. That is the hope that we cling to.
Every aspect of this trip has been amazing, from the shut ins, to the dump, to the painting. To bonding with my team and especially the kids. They truly shine with unconditional love. They are amazing. They are happy. They have blessed my socks off.
It was mazing to see throughout the week how every person had a certain child gravitate towards them. They became their child for the week. There really are no words to describe it.
There was much laughter, many tears, but most importantly, much love and joy. Every single person we met was a blessing. I have truly seen how the light of Christ shines through the darkness.
I will never be the same. Hold my heart.
During this Easter break the boys are working some projects which are helping the ministry while at the same time teaching them a trade. Some are working with Marcelo on maintaining air conditoners, while others are laying tile. Here are some pictures.
Another full house at the Caring Hearts Church to celebrate Easter. Brother Pedro preached on the resurecction and had a powerful time of prayer. Afterwards a special meal and time of fellowship. Here are some pictures.
Being on this trip has changed my life. I loved seeing the joy in the children and the faith of the shut ins. Their joy and their faith has made me stronger. God has a plan and I am now ready, willing and able. I will be going home to see how I can continue the change. - Kerri, Wellsprings Group
