Saturdays are a time of maintenance at the Boy's Home, and a time of learning as well. Here the boys are installing beams to store materials in the boys home, and also working on their toilets.
EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST!
Armando Steele, formerly of Oasis, was in an accident in Pennsylvania. He is OK, with a hand and hip injury, but they are waiting for results of different tests. The truck was totaled and he had to be extracted. Please pray for him and the Steele family during this time.
I have finished my education degree. I am grateful to God because he has always been good and was my strength when I needed it, and I know He was always at my side at the indicated time, I am definitely nothing without him, I love him and always will. Many people were with me at the beginning of this, although some are no longer ... but God is always here and my family too, the great family that I love with all my heart (of course, including the Oasis boys), thanks for always encouraging me, especially my dad Pedro Alvarado, for always giving me advice and support that I needed, I love you Daddy.
Thank God for Caring Hearts Ministry because it has been a great blessing to my life, thank you for opening the doors and trusting me, without this ministry I could not have continued with my studies.
Thanks to my friends, near and far, who have prayed and supported me during this time.
Most of all THANK GOD! All glory, honor, praise and honor are for Him. I want my life to be a reflection of His love, I love you Heavenly Father, I will never tire of saying thank you- Sarai

A group from Lake Havasu City Arizona, led by Rotarian Bob Moreno, blessed the Soup Kitchen this Christmas with a wonderful meal and a lot of toys. Here is a slide show about it.
Folks often ask me, when does it rain in San Luis? Well, it rained December 13, for the fourth time this year.
Our daugther Kendi has been taking baking classes at the local Cultural Center. She had an opportunity to share her cookies at a Christmas event held by the center.
Members of the INLUUVI Center for the Blind held a special dinner in honor of Handicapped Day. They had a delicious meal and had a time of fellowship and singing. Kendi made cupcakes for them. Enjoy the pictures.
Please pray for Adalberto as he is battling a serious case of bronchitis. He has not been able to attend our prayer meetings or Christmas dinner and we are concerned.
Also a special request for one of our team members who is struggling with gout. Your prayers are appreciated.
A group of winter visitors from Yuma blessed the children of Bethel. Here is a report from them:
Yesterday was Play day at Bethel and thought you might enjoy seeing the kids at play. The big blow ups are a huge success every year. The company that we rent them from was late so they where just arriving at the same time we where. We like for them to deliver in the morning so the kids are hungry and ready for lunch when we arrive, but not the case this year. As you know food isn't important when there's a GREAT toy just waiting for you outside the door so the time we got to spend with the kids during lunch was short and as the toy was so fresh in their day we didn't get to visit much with them after, but its all about play time for them on these trips to the orphanage so that is what they did after a very short lunch. Even Gibran didn't eat multiple sandwiches so we left lots of lunchmeat, cheese and other sandwich items for them to have for their dinner that evening.
The snack bags as always where a great treat and they where FULL. Each of the children also got a knit hat and a toy this year so that was fun for them too. We had a special gift for the girls this year that came in from Israel. It was crosses made of stones in Israel. We strung satin ribbon to them so the girls could wear them around there necks.
I've also included a couple of pictures of the crew that came down. There where 7 of us so the work load was light and two of the guys got to visit. - Sherry
