Here are some more pictures from the Lebanon/Hilcrest group. Enjoy and be blessed!
People who are hesitant to come on a mission trip can look at pictures of the children and see their smile, but pictures do not do them justice, and there is absolutely no way to describe the wonderful hugs you receive from them. Sending money is nice, but it does not hug these children.
James 2:15-16 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well, keep warm and well fed.” But does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
We delivered, in person, clothes and daily food. What an experience and what a blessing! - Maggie
A group led by members of St. Ferdinand Parish in Cranberry PA blessed us with a visit. They were a group mixed from many different churches who came with one goal in mind, to love the people of San Luis. They helped build a church , spare room for our laundress Edit and worked on a feeding center for sister Hilda. They also visited shut ins, the women's prison and helped in the Caring Hearts school. Here are some pictures and testimonies.
A NICE PICTURE OF LESLIE
I love San Luis because you are not greeted with frowns or questions, but hugs and tears. This place is my second home and it is to everyone who comes here to change the world. The kids and poor people are nice, and the people around you want to create a smile to go on every persons loving face. Thank you everyone who helped me go to help these people, but I must say they have helped me more. - Amelia (age 11)
SHUT INS WITH A GIFT FROM ST. FERDINANDS.
My heart was changed on this trip. The shut ins get me. Ever time I see these people who have close to nothing, then I see how we are in America. We are greedy. We need to be selfless and that is how I find myself acting more these days. This, and the previous trip here have totally changed my life. I am so excited to come back! - Megan
SHUT IN RECEIVES A GIFT FROM ST. FERDINANDS
A trip to San Luis is inspiring and life changing, always - Anna
This was my first trip and I enjoyed it all. I am sure everything will hit me when I get home. I will be back. Thank you for all you do for the kids. - Amy
KERRIANNE WITH ENRIQUE
This is my sixth trip to San Luis, Mexico. Every trip gets better because I love the people here. Each trip is different and such a blessing. After speaking at the prison, a woman came up to me with a tear running down her cheek. Sh said she was going to sleep in but God woke her up and told her someone special was coming. I am always shy and get nervous speaking in front of others, but I am so happy I did! - Amy
VISITING WITH A SHUT IN
Very rewarding. I am so glad I could DO something, working as a group, making a difference, touching lives, feeling the love, I plan to come again. - Teri
This was my second time coming to Bethel and my heart is so full of love from these children. Visiting the shut ins always gives me the feeling of hope amongst the hopeless. When you are standing in the middle of a broken home with 13 children, you realize that there is so much that we as followers of Christ need to do in our lives to help others. I just need to keep praying and remember that His Grace flows down and covers all my sin. - Melanie
My heart was changed at the prison. We visited the women's prison and it was an experience I will never forget. All of the women are so sweet and did not act like someone who would or should be in jail. Diana (a woman in the prison) shared her testimony and what she did that caused her to be in jail. These women broke my heart in many ways. They were so grateful for us to be there and they were so open to us. I am blessed for every experience I encounter and thank God daily for all He does and who He is. - Rachel
