Throughout Scripture, God's care is evident.

~I Corinthians 3:6 "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow."~

God's love is expressed through food, water, welcome, compassion, and faithful presence.

That same spirit shapes Caring Hearts' work in San Luis.  We plant a seed by seeing a need and acting.  We share the hope of Jesus and let God transform hearts and lives.

Caring Hearts provides weekly meals to vulnerable families at two soup kitchens. The ministry also helps provide clean water to people living and working near the city dump.

These ministries meet urgent needs, but the work does not stop there.

Each interaction creates an opportunity to:

  • Learn someone's name

  • Listen to what a family is experiencing

  • Pray together

  • Recognize needs that may otherwise remain unseen

  • Connect people with additional care and support

Consider the story of Hugo.

Long before working at Caring Hearts, our Director, Angela, served in San Luis.  Her first trip to the dump, she met Hugo.  A friendship was formed and trust was established.  Caring Hearts continues to serve the immediate needs of Hugo. Meeting the physical needs allows for a seed to be planted, pray that an abundant spiritual harvest is the result.

This is a whole-person ministry.

A practical need is met with dignity, but a person is never reduced to that need. They are seen as someone created in the image of God and worthy of care, relationship, and hope.

Every story of hope starts with a single seed.

It began with a plate of food at the dump in San Luis. Then a friendship grew and stories were shared. Soon an invitation was accepted, and supplies and a Bible were delivered. Today, hope is blooming.

This is what happens when we show up again and again with love.

We see a need. We act.
