And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.
Imagine being unable to see God’s beautiful creation, unable to read your Bible, unable to complete simple daily tasks, unable to provide for your family, and being “left for dead” simply because you can’t see. This has been the reality for the many that have come to the Blind Center!
The Blind Center provides them with hope, love, purpose, community, education and skills. The Blind Center changes their life and helps them find the purpose that God has for them.
In Mexico, one of the most prevalent health issues is diabetes. Without access to proper medical care and insulin, one of the side effects of this issue is blindness. Many people in San Luis were left blind without any resources to live a normal life, work, or have access to support. They spend their days feeling alone and desperately hopeless.
The Shine a Light in Your Life Center for the Blind began in 2012, when Linvania Reyes, a woman that had gone blind due to diabetes, heard God clearly tell her to “Find others like her and help them.”
The Blind Center is now a place where about 30 people come to learn about Jesus, have fellowship with one another and to learn skills they can use in their personal and professional lives. They learn to make jewelry and trinkets to sell, how to give massages, and recently they have started a baking business! The Blind Center gives them hope and purpose when they thought all was lost!
When you give to Caring Hearts, you give the opportunity for those whose sight was taken from them to gain the ability to be creative, self sufficient, and no longer feel alone. Join with us in being a voice for the blind.
