In October 2019, when we met three little girls living in a garbage dump with men in a house made of wood scraps, tarps and sticks, it became very clear to us that the girls in San Luis are at risk, and we knew we had to do something. Thus, the first Caring Hearts Girls Home was established.
Today, one of our Caring Hearts trusted families fosters the three girls we met in the garbage dump, plus three other girls whose families have brought them to the home seeking a better life than they can provide.
The home provides a family-like atmosphere with a faith-based, therapeutic, and trauma-informed approach. These girls need more than just a shelter. They need emotional and spiritual healing and support, medical care and job skills. Through counseling, school, and caring for the educational, physical, and mental needs of the girls, we want to help each and every girl find her passion and have all that she needs to pursue it.
Join us in fighting for the girls through our #FemininaFuerte campaign. Feminina means feminine and Fuerte means strong. We believe that it is our job to fight for these girls and raise them to be strong, independent young women.
