In October 2019, it became very clear to us that the girls in San Luis are at risk. When we met three little girls living in a garbage dump with men in a house made of wood scraps, tarps and sticks, we knew we had to do something. Thus, the first Caring Hearts Girls Home was started.
Today, one of our Caring Hearts trusted families fosters the three girls we met in the garbage dump, and we have launched our #FemininaFuerte campaign to raise money for expansion of this program.
This year, we are fundraising and planning for a new home where we can help more girls. The home will provide a family-like atmosphere with a holistic, therapeutic, and trauma-informed approach. Girls need more than a shelter. They need job skills, they need medical care, and they need emotional and spiritual support and healing. Through counseling, school, and caring for the educational, physical, and mental needs of the girls, we want to help each and every girl find her passion and have all that she needs to pursue it.
Join us in fighting for the girls through our #FemininaFuerte campaign. Feminina means feminine and Fuerte means strong. We believe that it is our job to fight for the girls and raise strong, independent young women.
