In San Luis, it is common for children to be abandoned by their parents due to poverty or drug addiction. We found that many young boys were living on the streets, not attending school, and joining gangs at a young age. Thus, Oasis Boys Home was born.
The boys at Oasis Boys Home are ages 8-18 and all of them come from tough backgrounds. Many of the boys don’t have living parents or come from families with parents that are unable to provide the necessary support and love they need. Oasis Boys Home provides a safe, loving, family-like atmosphere with spiritual mentors, education, trade and like-skill training.
Through our Oasis Sponsorship Program, you can build a close, mentorship relationship with your chosen boy/boys right from the comfort of your own home. Through pen-pal style communication, you will learn what they like/dislike, what they are learning, how they are growing in God and how you can be praying for them. We ask that you share these same things with them in your letters as you respond. And when you feel ready, or are able, join us on a trip where you can spend some real face-to-face time together. As donors, you will have the unique opportunity to help rewrite their story and become someone they will never forget!
