Azahel recently lost his mother, who was the one who took care of him and his three brothers. They passed into the care of their grandmother who has health problems, in addition to having a son who requires special care because he has down syndrome. The grandmother felt overwhelmed by the responsibility of her four grandchildren and her son, so she asked Oasis for help in caring for Azahel as he is entering a difficult stage where he could easily get involved with drugs and gangs. She didn't want to see that happen, and neither do we. Azahel is a friendly boy and just like the other boys, loves playing soccer. We believe he will fit in very well here, and that God will truly show up in his life! We are thankful for the opportunity to demonstrate the unfailing love of God and to play a part in helping him find his God-given calling!
