Ismael is the newest addition to Oasis! He comes to us from a pretty difficult situation. Ismael is not originally from San Luis, but 2 years ago, his mother brought him to live with his grandmother, whom he had never met, leaving him alone with her! His living situation with his grandmother was very tumultuous, and he ended up in the DIF system, which landed him in an orphanage. He remained in the orphanage almost a year, at which time he was not treated well and was not attending any school. After a year, it was decided he would return home to his grandmother. Sadly, the situation was no different this time, but thankfully he was sent to Oasis this time where he will be loved, cared for and educated. With us, he has a real chance of leading the life of peace, love and purpose God has intended for him to live, and he will learn what it means to have a loving Father! In the short time he has been with us he has proven to be a very kind and friendly boy. Though he has missed several years of school, he's eager to learn, putting forth a lot of effort to catch up to his peers. We believe with his drive, dedication and positive study habits he will catch up to and surpass the educational level of his peers! We pray that Ismael will grow to know the love of God for his life and will whole-heartedly embrace his God-given destiny!
