José Irving

9 years old

José and his brother Sergio recently arrived at Oasis by the request of their aunt and grandfather. The boys came into their care because their mother suffers from drug addiction and their father is currently in a rehab center for his addictions. Though they love the boys, they are unable to care for them in a way they deserve and want more for them than they can give since the aunt works in the United States and the grandfather in Mexicali, leaving the boys to fend for themselves. Both José and Sergio are severely delayed in their education, having missed almost three years of school, and neither of them knows how to read. Each of them have been enrolled in school and are receiving additional tutoring in an attempt to get them caught up to their peers. We are thankful God has entrusted José to our care and we pray that he will feel the deep love of Christ surrounding him while at Oasis, and that he will learn to trust in Him.
